Cake pops is the new awesome.

Found the tutorial and recipe for cake pops from Pinterest, and I decided to make it as a birthday surprise. The result? Well, not as fancy as the ones from the tutorial, mine was kinda messy, you can tell by the unbalanced placing of the blue icing. After two days of whisking, baking, melting chocolate and getting the house very, very messed up, I decided that I am no baker. Either that or I just don't have the patience for mini cakes. The decorating part was the trickiest part!

But it tasted pretty good, although slightly too sweet for me. Less butter cream next time, maybe. My five-year old cousin Abel joined me and made some cake pops  too. The photos below are the cake pops that she decorated herself.
Yes, it does look like lollipops, isn't it? That's where the term cake pops came from. Unlike lollipops, which is candy inside, cake pops are filled with cake! You can learn more about cake pops on this wonderful cake-site Bakerella.

Abel enjoyed making these cake pops soooooo much. She wants to make more! And I'm like, ugh, maybe one day in the future when I'm completely bored out of my mind. Hahaha. Well, at least someone was happy when we made these. :D

Just want to let y'all know..

It's 6.28 AM, I haven't slept, and I've finished everything I need to work on this week. Including a special project that I did in the last 5 hours. From scratch. Finished! Woah I feel very accomplished already. Woohoooo, here we go happy no-more-work weekend! :D

P.S. and you, mister, is getting a very looong letter written just for your eyes. That's what long nights being awake did. Yep, I know I'm crazy. Hah!

Hellofest, 04 February 2012

Joined forces with Double Trouble team and opened a booth at Hellofest.
I was planning to make a lot of cute handmade stuff, but because I'm a horrible, horrible procrastinator, we ended up selling... whatever we've got. Hahaha. Here are some of the things that I sold..
Sold several pairs of vintage glasses! These are the ones left now. :D
Handmade pinhole cameras!
This is our neighbour Apa Namanya and their super fun teeny tiny crafts!
Other booths in the area..
And the wonderfully gorgeous Ika Vantiani's stuff!
Ika, I want this blue make-up case!

The year of the dragon!

Yes, yes, I know, Chinese New Year was last month. But whatever.

Stop trying to steal my thunder, Valentine.

It's February already! My favourite month of the year! It's MY month. Mine. You hear that, Valentine? Stop trying to take the spotlight away from me. Anyway! What have I been up to since last month, let's see... Chinese New Year, Hellofest bazaar thingy, a quick work trip back to the Singapore land for five short days, more and more work, and oh, my birthday!

I turned 28 on February 11th this year. Didn't get a lot of photos since I failed to bring my camera. So the photos you are looking at were taken using Bobby, my trusty Blackberry sidekick. All in all, it was a great birthday, and probably the most bizarre I've had so far, hahaha. Have you ever been called and asked to come immediately for work about half an hour into your birthday? Well, that happened to me. It was not even a prank, it was real work. So I spent my night at the studio, working until about 4 AM.

And thank you to my dear, dear, dear boyfriend for the Fuji Instax camera! Have always wanted one, now I've got one. Yay!

Falling in love with this bamboo mat the minute I saw it. Oh so gorgeous!
